Lucy Hayes Producer
You don’t want to have done it all, but after 25 years of experience… You should have a pretty good idea, right?
I’m an efficient and creative producer, who loves nothing more than seeing a job through from brief to broadcast. Comfortable working across all mediums, from TV and cinema commercials to short films, I’ve been described as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic collaborator who’s not afraid to get into the finer details of a budget or treatment.
Growing up, I was an avid BMX rider, but eventually my knees decided that I should follow my dad and brother into the film industry. My first job was as a commercials PA at Production International, where I worked up to producer alongside directors such as Howard Guard, Luke Scott, and John Threlfall . It was here that I really caught the bug, and was lucky enough to work with some of the top talent in the industry on blockbuster campaigns for Nike, Adidas, Toyota, and many more.
Twelve years later - with a dog-eared passport bursting with stamps - I headed for spicier shores, and started a role as head of production at Mustard Film Co. Here, I was responsible for running the department, shepherding all the pitches and budgets through whilst working closely with the directors on their creative vision. It was also a chance to liaise more directly with agencies and clients, an area of my skill set which remains crucial in an age where budgets and timelines are often tight.
After ten years at Mustard, I fancied a change, and moved over to Partizan, where I soon found myself producing work with a new breed of directors. Taking me on shoots as diverse as music videos for A$AP Rocky and a G-Star commercial with Pharrell Williams - as well as working with directors like Dexter Navy, Michael Gracey and Sing J Lee - it ended up being the perfect transition to going freelance.
And this is where I’ve found myself since 2017, moving fluidly between production companies and directors (you’ll never get me to divulge my favourites). Recently, I’ve worked with Zac Ella to bring Kylian Mbappe and Nike together, shot a campaign for the UN with Aleem Khan and Ogilvy, and even got my trainers muddy shooting grassroots women’s footballers for Google Pixel and Emilie Badenhorst.
I live in Cranleigh, a short commute from London, with my black labrador Buddy. We both look forward to hearing from you.
